03:34 AM EDT, 08/14/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Alcoa's ( AA ) Australian unit has entered into a gas sales agreement with Equus Energy for long-term domestic gas supply from the Equus gas project, according to a Friday statement.

The financial terms of the agreement weren't disclosed.

Under the deal, Equus will supply about 50 terajoules per day of gas to Alcoa Australia for a period of 10 years, equivalent to about 182 petajoules over the term of the contract.

The agreement is part of the broader gas sales and funding deal between the two companies that provides Equus payment of $30 million to complete a front-end engineering design study for its project in Western Australia's North West Shelf region.
