Alibaba Cloud Releases Over 100 Open-Sourced Qwen 2.5 Models, New Text-to-Video Model

07:02 AM EDT, 09/19/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Alibaba Group Holding's ( BABA ) Alibaba Cloud unit said Thursday it has released more than 100 open-sourced Qwen 2.5 large language models.

The new Qwen 2.5 models will support more than 29 languages, the company said. Adding that, the new models will be applicable for industries including automobile, gaming, and science research.

Alibaba Cloud also said it has upgraded Qwen-Max, its proprietary flagship model.

Additionally, Alibaba Cloud also launched a new text-to-video model as part of its image generator, Tongyi Wanxiang large model family.

The new products were rolled out at the Apsara Conference.

Shares of the company were up 4.4% in recent Thursday premarket activity.
