08:10 AM EDT, 10/08/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Alibaba ( BABA ) has set up an in-house robotics and embodied AI group within its Qwen unit, company executive Justin Lin said Wednesday.

The team will push Qwen's multimodal foundation models toward "foundation agents" that use tools and memory for long-horizon reasoning, Lin said.

The goal is to bring these systems from virtual settings into physical robots, the executive added.
