Alibaba Group Holding Launches AI Mode, Plans to Use Tokenization

04:54 AM EST, 11/14/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Alibaba Group Holding ( BABA ) said Friday that it launched "AI Mode" for its Alibaba.com e-commerce platform, integrating agentic artificial intelligence into the platform's user interface.

AI Mode is set to roll out in December, with capabilities like interpreting natural language queries, analyzing technical specifications, and comparing suppliers, according to the statement.

Separately, Alibaba.com President Kuo Zhang told CNBC that the platform plans to use "tokenization" for cross-border transaction payments in its business-to-business segment. CNBC reported the move Friday, noting that Alibaba ( BABA ) will work with JPMorgan Chase ( JPM ) on the payment technology.
