05:07 AM EDT, 03/25/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Alibaba ( BABA ) shares were up 4.8% in premarket trading and JD.com ( JD ) were up 4.6% after China's competition regulator indicated it favored consolidation in the food-delivery sector, according to news outlets.
Bloomberg reported that China's market regulator held a seminar on the need to curb competition in the space while its website reposted an article calling for an end to price wars in the sector.
Alibaba ( BABA ) and JD.com ( JD ) did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
