Alibaba Launches Qwen 2.5-Max AI Model, Claims Better Performance Than DeepSeek-V3
Jan 29, 2025 3:11 AM

05:58 AM EST, 01/29/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Alibaba (BABA) showed its enhanced Qwen 2.5-Max AI model, saying it outperformed DeepSeek-V3, GPT-4o, and Llama-3.1-405B across several benchmarks, multiple news outlets reported Wednesday, citing an official WeChat statement.

Alibaba Cloud reportedly released benchmark data showing Qwen 2.5-Max surpassing Meta's Llama and DeepSeek's V3, while also claiming it does better than OpenAI and Anthropic in specific tests.

DeepSeek's sudden improvements, including its R1 model, have cautioned Chinese tech firms like Alibaba, ByteDance, and Tencent to upgrade their AI systems, the news outlets added.

AliBaba did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.

The company's shares were up more than 2% in recent Wednesday premarket activity.
