Alibaba's Amap to Launch AI-Driven Service for Ranking Businesses, Hotels
Sep 10, 2025 4:39 AM

07:07 AM EDT, 09/10/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Alibaba ( BABA ) said Wednesday that its digital mapping platform Amap has launched a new AI-driven service called Amap Street Stars to rank restaurants, hotels, and tourist destinations.

The rankings will utilise artificial intelligence algorithms and take input from navigation patterns and user reviews to determine the rankings, the company said.

Amap is committing 1 billion Chinese renminbi ($140 million) in subsidies to boost foot traffic and drive offline consumption, the company said.

The service will initially cover 300 cities and list 1.6 million local businesses, it said.
