05:33 PM EDT, 03/12/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Allbirds ( BIRD ) said late Tuesday that Joe Vernachio, its chief operating officer since 2021, will take over as its chief executive officer starting March 15.

The company said Vernachio succeeds Joey Zwillinger, Allbirds's ( BIRD ) co-founder and CEO, who will remain a board member and serve as a special advisor.

Before joining Allbirds ( BIRD ), Vernachio was president of Mountain Hardwear.

Vernachio's addition to the board will expand its size to eight, the company added.
