09:39 AM EDT, 10/22/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Allegiant Travel ( ALGT ) said Tuesday that its preliminary total system passenger traffic for September declined by 2.4% year over year to about 1 million passengers.

Total system available seat miles fell by 3.2% from a year earlier, while departures decreased by 2.1%, the leisure travel company said.

For the third quarter of 2024, the company reported a slight year-over-year drop of 0.8% in total system passengers to about 4.3 million. Total system available seat miles increased by 1.5%, and departures rose by 2.2%, Allegiant said.

Allegiant's estimated average fuel cost for September was $2.49 per gallon, while for Q3 it was $2.69 per gallon, the company added.
