Allegiant Travel Reports 1.9% Increase in Passengers Flown in June; Shares Rise

11:27 AM EDT, 07/25/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Allegiant Travel ( ALGT ) said Thursday it flew nearly 1.85 million scheduled and fixed-fee passengers in June, up about 1.9% from a year ago, according to preliminary monthly totals released by the leisure air carrier.

Overall, Allegiant made 12,217 scheduled departures and flew 422 fixed-fee flights, a 7% increase over its total system levels during June 2023 and also helping lift available seat miles flown by 7% over last year, it said.

The company also released its preliminary Q2 activity, flying 4.62 million passengers on 32,252 flights system-wide between April 1 through June 30, down 2.8% and 0.4%, respectively, from s year ago. Available seat miles were down 0.8% year-over-year, it said.

Allegiant shares were nearly 6% higher in Thursday morning trading.
