08:33 AM EDT, 09/30/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Alphabet (GOOG) said on Monday it would invest $1 billion in Thailand to expand its digital infrastructure by developing its cloud and data center in Bangkok and Chonburi.
The company unveiled the investment plan at Government House with Paetongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister of Thailand, and follows agreement concluded with the Royal Thai Government in November 2023.
Google's ( GOOG ) investment has the potential to add $4 billion to Thailand's GDP by 2029 and support an average of 14,000 jobs annually from 2025 through 2029, the company said, citing a Deloitte study.
