01:45 PM EDT, 10/31/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Alphabet (GOOG) on Thursday said it is adding Gemini artificial intelligence features to its Google Maps allowing users to interact in a conversational style in addition to providing turn-by-turn directions.

The company also said it is using Gemini AI chatbot to supplement Waze and Google Earth platforms. Google ( GOOG ) will also allow developers to incorporate these features with third-party apps, it said.

Alphabet shares were drifting 1.5% lower in recent trading.
