01:20 PM EDT, 04/23/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Alphabet's (GOOG) Google ( GOOG ) said Tuesday that it is investing 600 million euros ($642 million) in a new data center in Netherlands.
The company added that the center's construction has started on the Westpoort business park in Groningen. The project is expected to create 125 local jobs, excluding the construction jobs, the company said.
Marco Ynema, Google's ( GOOG ) data center lead in the Netherlands, said the data center will focus on meeting the growing demand for digital tools, and cloud services.
The tech giant added that it has invested more than 3.8 billion euros in data centers and related digital infrastructure in the country since 2014.
