03:14 PM EDT, 03/12/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Alphabet's (GOOG) Google ( GOOG ) said Wednesday it has launched the latest version of its open source generative artificial intelligence model called Gemma 3.

The tech giant said Gemma 3 can be run on a single graphics processing unit or tensor processing unit. The latest version also introduces quantized models, which reduces model size and computational requirements, while maintaining high accuracy.

Google ( GOOG ) said it also launched ShieldGemma 2, an image safety checker built on the Gemma 3 foundation.
