10:35 AM EDT, 07/09/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Alphabet's (GOOGL, GOOG) Google ( GOOG ) said Wednesday that it's rolling out its Gemini AI assistant to Wear OS watches like those made by Pixel, Samsung, Oppo, OnePlus and Xiaomi.

The Gemini assistant on smartwatches will use the same AI models already being used in phones, the company said, adding the assistant will allow users to manage tasks and get information without needing to use their phones.

The Gemini assistant on watches will be able to access Google ( GOOG ) services such as Gmail and Google Calendar, the company said.

The AI assistant is being launched on watches with Wear OS 4+ in the coming weeks, Google ( GOOG ) said.

Alphabet shares were up more than 2% in recent trading.
