Alphabet's Google Signs Offtake Agreement With Commonwealth Fusion Systems

10:05 AM EDT, 06/30/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Alphabet's (GOOG, GOOGL) Google ( GOOG ) has signed an offtake agreement for 200 megawatts of fusion power from Commonwealth Fusion Systems' ARC power plant in Chesterfield County, Virginia, according to a joint statement Monday.

Commonwealth Fusion expects the power plant to be operational in the early 2030s, the companies said, adding Google ( GOOG ) has the option to offtake power from additional ARC power plants.

Google ( GOOG ), an investor in Commonwealth Fusion since 2021, has also increased its stake in the energy firm, according to the statement. No financial terms were disclosed.
