12:20 PM EDT, 10/02/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Alphabet (GOOG, GOOGL) unit Waymo is offering tests of its fully autonomous ride-hailing service in Austin, Texas.

The commercial launch of the service is expected early next year through the Uber ( UBER ) app, Waymo said Wednesday in a post on X.

Test riders can travel across 37 square miles in Austin, Waymo said.
