05:24 PM EST, 11/25/2025 (MT Newswires) -- AltaGas ( ATGFF ) , after trade Tuesday, said it activated its contingency plan to keep operations running at the Ridley Island Propane Export Terminal (RIPET) in British Columbia after the International Longshore and Warehouse Union Local 523B began strike action.
The union, which represents terminal employees, chose to proceed with a labor stoppage on Thursday, the company said.
"While AltaGas ( ATGFF ) is disappointed that a resolution has not yet been reached, the company remains committed to working collaboratively with its union partner to achieve a fair agreement that benefits all stakeholders over the long term," the company said.
In the meantime, AltaGas ( ATGFF ) has put alternate staffing in place to keep export operations largely unchanged, the company said, adding that with contingency measures now active, it expects only minimal financial impact and is reaffirming its full-year 2025 guidance.
AltaGas ( ATGFF ) shares closed down $0.49 to $42.70 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
