11:56 AM EDT, 07/23/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Altair Engineering ( ALTR ) said Tuesday that it signed a memorandum of understanding with the University of Nottingham in the UK for a digital twin project in the aerospace sector.

Altair Engineering ( ALTR ) said the deal will grant university researchers unlimited access to its HyperWorks design and simulation and RapidMiner data analytics and artificial intelligence platforms, as well as high-computing tools and unlimited training.

No financial details were disclosed.

The digital twin will serve as a solution that can be used to design and test electric propulsion systems of new aircraft or advanced air mobility vehicles and evaluate the retrofit of existing ones, according to the statement.
