10:45 AM EST, 12/19/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Altimmune ( ALT ) said Thursday it will be added to the Nasdaq Biotechnology Index before trading begins on Dec. 23.

The company said the index is designed to track the performance of biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies listed on the Nasdaq stock exchange and serves as the basis for the iShares Nasdaq Biotechnology Index Fund.

Shares of the company were up 4.6% in recent trading.
