06:43 AM EDT, 03/12/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Amazon ( AMZN ) drew criticism Wednesday from Federal Communications Commission Chairman Brendan Carr after the e-commerce giant's opposition to SpaceX's orbital data center initiative, according to Carr's post on X.

Amazon ( AMZN ) should focus on its own network rather than directing resources toward formal complaints against businesses actively deploying spacecraft, when Amazon ( AMZN ) itself is projected to miss its next launch target by about 1,000 satellites, Carr said in the post.

Amazon ( AMZN ) filed a formal petition to the FCC to deny SpaceX's proposal to deploy 1 million satellites, calling it "a lofty ambition rather than a real plan."

Amazon ( AMZN ) did not immediately respond to a request for comment by MT Newswires.
