Amazon Faces Antitrust Lawsuit as US Court Allows Zulily to Proceed With Amended Claim
Jan 2, 2025 10:44 AM

01:18 PM EST, 01/02/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Amazon's ( AMZN ) motion to dismiss an antitrust lawsuit filed by Beyond's (BYON) Zulily was partially denied as the US District Court for the Western District of Washington rejected its claim that the plaintiff lacks antitrust standing.

The court order partially granted Amazon's ( AMZN ) motion to dismiss Zulily's claims of a "hub and spoke" conspiracy to restrain trade under federal and state law, and deceptive acts under Washington's Consumer Protection Act.

Amazon's ( AMZN ) motion to dismiss all other claims was denied and the court granted Zulily, which operates an online retail platform, until Jan. 31 to file an amended claim, according to the court order.

Neither Amazon ( AMZN ) nor Beyond immediately responded to MT Newswires' requests for comment.

BYON shares were over 12% higher while AMZN shares were down 0.2% in recent trading.
