Amazon, Google, Meta Among Signatories of Pledge to Triple Global Nuclear Energy Capacity by 2050

08:31 AM EDT, 03/12/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Amazon ( AMZN ) , Alphabet's (GOOG, GOOGL) Google ( GOOG ), Meta Platforms ( META ) , Occidental Petroleum ( OXY ) , and Dow (DOW) have signed a pledge to at least triple the world's nuclear energy capacity by 2050, the World Nuclear Association said Wednesday.

The pledge, signed during the CERAWeek 2025 conference in Houston, is anticipated to have more signatories over the coming months, the association said.

The signatories have agreed that a "resilient strategy for fostering economic growth" should include an increase in the share of electricity offered by nuclear energy and "should ensure energy abundance through a diversified and reliable grid infrastructure, the association said.
