06:50 AM EDT, 06/06/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Amazon.com's ( AMZN ) labor union has agreed to affiliate with the 1.3 million-member International Brotherhood of Teamsters.

Amazon Labor Union members will vote to ratify the affiliation in the coming weeks. The Teamsters said its board unanimously approved the agreement.

The union will represent the about 8,000 Amazon ( AMZN ) warehouse workers at the JFK8 facility in Staten Island and have jurisdiction across New York's five boroughs, Teamsters said.

Amazon ( AMZN ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswire's request for comment.
