Amazon Prime Day's Online Sales in US Hit $7.2 Billion on First Day

12:08 PM EDT, 07/17/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Amazon.com's ( AMZN ) Prime Day event saw consumers spending $7.2 billion online across US retailers during the first day of the two-day discount event, according to Adobe Analytics data released Wednesday.

Adobe had forecast online sales of $7.1 billion on the first day and $6.9 billion on the second day of the July 16-17 event.

The online sales on Day 1 were up 11.7% year-over-year, marking the single biggest e-commerce day so far this year, led by electronics products including headphones, bluetooth speakers and televisions, Adobe told MT Newswires.
