Amazon Shareholders Reportedly Reject All 14 Outside Proposals on Climate, AI, Worker Issues

05:23 PM EDT, 05/22/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Amazon.com ( AMZN ) shareholders sided with the company by rejecting all 14 resolutions proposed by investors at the annual meeting, media reports said Wednesday.

Amazon ( AMZN ) announced preliminary vote results during its yearly virtual event with all 12 director nominees standing for reelection to the board winning new terms, Reuters reported. Shareholders turned down resolutions for the formation of a board panel to supervise artificial-intelligence development, along with proposals to disclose more on carbon emissions and directors' donations, Reuters said.

Amazon ( AMZN ) recommended against all of the proposals in its proxy documents.

Shareholders also rejected several employee-related proposals, including reporting on gender and racial pay disparities and working conditions at Amazon ( AMZN ) warehouses, GeekWire reported.

Specific vote totals were not immediately available.

Amazon ( AMZN ) shares rose 0.1% in recent after-hours trading.
