03:25 PM EDT, 07/30/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Amazon ( AMZN ) on Tuesday filed a lawsuit against Nokia ( NOK ) for allegedly infringing on patents covering its cloud computing offerings.

The lawsuit, filed with the US District Court for the District of Delaware, said that Nokia's ( NOK ) cloud services, which began in 2020, leveraged Amazon's ( AMZN ) patented technology to "address issues faced by cloud service providers."

Amazon ( AMZN ) alleged that Nokia ( NOK ) was continuing to use its "patented cloud innovations without permissions."

The company is seeking to block Nokia ( NOK ) from infringing on its patents and has sought resulting damages.

Nokia ( NOK ) did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.

Amazon's ( AMZN ) lawsuit follows a similar action by Nokia ( NOK ) in November in which the Finnish telecom company alleged Amazon Prime Video infringed on a mix of its multimedia patents.
