09:02 AM EDT, 06/20/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Amazon.com ( AMZN ) said Wednesday that it plans to invest 10 billion euros ($10.72 billion) to expand its logistics network and cloud infrastructure in Germany.
The company said its cloud-computing unit, Amazon Web Services, plans to invest 8.8 billion euros by 2026 to build, maintain, and operate its cloud infrastructure for the AWS Europe Region, which is headquartered in Frankfurt, Germany.
Amazon ( AMZN ) said it is also creating 4,000 new jobs this year across the country.
The new investment plan brings Amazon's ( AMZN ) confirmed planned investments in the country to 17.8 billion euros, following a confirmation for the 7.8 billion-euro AWS European Sovereign Cloud, which will launch its first AWS region in the German state of Brandenburg.
