09:15 AM EST, 01/14/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Amazon.com's ( AMZN ) Amazon Web Services said Tuesday it launched the AWS Mexico Region, allowing customers to store their content securely in the country.

The new region will also serve end users with even lower latency and serve demand for cloud services in Latin America, Amazon Web Services said.

AWS said it is looking to invest more than $5 billion in Mexico over 15 years as part of its long-term commitment.

AMZN shares were up 0.8% in recent premarket activity.
