11:25 AM EDT, 09/10/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Amazon.com's ( AMZN ) Amazon Web Services and the National Football League said Tuesday they have extended their partnership and will debut this week a new artificial intelligence-powered Next Gen Stat that analyzes tackles.

The Tackle Probability ML model predicts the likelihood that a defender will make a tackle and can be used to calculate metrics such as missed tackle attempts by a defender and missed tackles forced by a ball carrier, they said.

NFL's player and ball tracking platform Next Gen Stats uses AWS's machine learning capabilities to provide data-driven insights on games, they added.

GenAI tools have also been deployed for the league's NFL Media division that distributes NFL-related content, AWS and NFL said.
