05:01 AM EST, 02/19/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Amazon Web Services (AMZN) and Nokia ( NOK ) said Thursday they have launched commercial mobile service using 5G Core software as a service on Belgium's Citymesh.

The companies said the new service shows how "telecommunications providers can choose to build and scale their networks."

The software-as-a-service option reduces capital investment and complexity, the companies said.

Citymesh is using Nokia's ( NOK ) SaaS for business service on Amazon's ( AMZN ) global cloud infrastructure to serve events, airports, hospitals, first responders, drone operators, and transportation sectors, as well as for self-employed professionals, the companies said.
