Amazon Web Services Plans to Invest $6.2 Billion in Malaysia as Part of Infrastructure Region Launch

05:00 AM EDT, 08/22/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Amazon.com's ( AMZN ) Amazon Web Services said late Wednesday it plans to invest about $6.2 billion in Malaysia through 2038 while launching the AWS Asia Pacific (Malaysia) Region.

The company said the move will give customers "more choice to run workloads and securely store data in Malaysia while serving end users with even lower latency."

The decision reflects higher demand for cloud services in Malaysia and across Asia-Pacific.
