Amazon Web Services Plans to Invest Over $10 Billion in UK Through 2028

06:00 AM EDT, 09/11/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Amazon.com ( AMZN ) said Wednesday that Amazon Web Services intends to invest 8 billion British pounds ($10.47 billion) from 2024 through 2028 to construct, operate and maintain data centers in the UK.

The investment is expected to support over 14,000 full-time employment opportunities annually across local UK businesses, the e-commerce giant added.

The positions will be a part of the AWS data center supply chain and range from construction, facility maintenance, engineering, telecommunications and others, Amazon ( AMZN ) said.
