07:12 AM EDT, 06/16/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Amazon.com ( AMZN ) Web Services plans to invest 20 billion Australian dollars ($13.04 billion) in Australia's data center infrastructure, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said Saturday.

The investment will be made over the next five years and provide technology to support artificial intelligence and other applications at data centers in Melbourne and Sydney.

"This investment highlights AWS's role as a trusted US-based global technology provider," Albanese said.

Amazon ( AMZN ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
