06:07 AM EDT, 09/12/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Amazon.com ( AMZN ) Web Services said Wednesday it will invest 10.1 billion Brazilian reais ($1.78 billion) over the next 10 years on data centers in Brazil.
The investment includes expanding, building, connecting, operating, and maintaining data centers in the state of Sao Paulo to meet cloud and AI demand, the company said.
The amount is in addition to the 19.2 billion reais that Amazon Web Services invested in Brazil between 2011 to 2023, the company said, according to a Google translation of a statement.
