05:38 AM EDT, 10/24/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Amazon.com ( AMZN )-backed (AMZN) Anthropic said Thursday it will expand its use of Alphabet's (GOOG, GOOGL) Google Cloud technologies to boost its compute resources for artificial intelligence research and product development.

"The expansion is worth tens of billions of dollars and is expected to bring well over a gigawatt of capacity online in 2026," Anthropic said.

The expansion includes up to 1 million tensor processing units.

Anthropic said that Amazon ( AMZN ) is its primary training partner and cloud provider and that the company will continue to invest in additional compute capacity.

Alphabet shares were up 1.4% in recent premarket activity Friday.
