03:58 PM EST, 03/08/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Amazon.com's ( AMZN ) recently implemented fees for merchants on its online platform are under scrutiny by the US Federal Trade Commission, Fortune reported Friday, citing sources familiar with the development.
The new set of fees requires sellers to either utilize Amazon's ( AMZN ) warehousing service or ship goods to multiple warehouses at their expense, according to the report.
The fees also include penalties for low inventory that can be avoided by registering with the paid warehousing service, the report added.
The sources reportedly said that the commission reached out to sellers regarding the impact of new fees.
