11:35 AM EDT, 03/20/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Amazon.com ( AMZN ) said Wednesday it has started selling carbon credits to its partners in the US.
The credits will only be available to companies that have a net-zero carbon emissions target covering Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions; measure and publicly report their carbon footprint on a regular basis; and commit to implementing decarbonization strategies, the e-commerce giant said.
The carbon credits will finance efforts that either prevent new greenhouse gas emissions or reduce existing emissions from the atmosphere and support development in communities, Amazon ( AMZN ) said.
Shares of the company were up 1% in recent Thursday trading.
