The company said its new investment would increase Amazon Web Services's cloud infrastructure in Paris to support generative AI opportunities.
It will also support the expansion of the logistics network in the Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes region, increasing delivery speed and reducing carbon emissions, Amazon ( AMZN ) added.
The company currently operates more than 35 logistics facilities in France.
The new jobs are in addition to the 2,000 new permanent jobs already announced for 2024 in April. Since 2010, the company has invested over 20 billion euros into French operations and employs more than 22,000 permanent employees across its cloud and online retail businesses.
