06:57 AM EDT, 06/12/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Amazon.com ( AMZN ) 's Amazon Web Services said Tuesday that it will launch an AWS infrastructure region in Taiwan by early 2025 and plans to invest billions of dollars in the country over the next 15 years.

The new AWS region will consist of three availability zones at launch, which will place infrastructure in separate and distinct geographic locations.

The company said that the new AWS region will give companies greater choice for running their applications and serving end users from data centers in Taiwan, ensuring that customers who want to keep their content within the country can securely do so.
