11:13 AM EDT, 10/09/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Amazon.com ( AMZN ) said Wednesday that it will roll out its artificial intellgence backed Vision-Assisted Package Retrieval to 1,000 electric delivery vans made by Rivian Automotive ( RIVN ) by early 2025.

The company said VAPR uses Amazon Robotics Identification, a computer vision technology, that allows for the automatic identification of a package for delivery. According to Amazon ( AMZN ), the new solution simplifies its delivery process and removes drivers' need for a mobile device in deliveries.
