10:41 AM EDT, 04/25/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Amazon.com's ( AMZN ) Amazon Web Services unit said Thursday that it plans to invest about $11 billion in Indiana to build data centers and support state and local projects.
The company said its investments are expected to create at least 1,000 new jobs.
The data centers, which have the support of Governor Eric Holcomb and the Indiana Economic Development Corp., will be constructed in St. Joseph County, AWS said.
The company will also contribute up to $7 million to support road improvements surrounding the planned development and has committed $100,000 to a grant program, AWS said.
Amazon.com ( AMZN ) has invested $21.5 billion in Indiana since 2010, the company said.
