11:35 AM EDT, 06/18/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Amazon.com's ( AMZN ) autonomous vehicle startup Zoox said Wednesday that it has opened a serial production facility for robotaxis in Hayward, California.

The facility covers 220,000 square feet and has the capacity to assemble over 10,000 robotaxis a year to support planned robotaxi services in the US, initially in Las Vegas followed by San Francisco, according to Zoox.

The company said its other assembly facility in Fremont is now dedicated to retrofitting the testing fleet and sensor pod configuration.
