02:41 PM EDT, 07/11/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Amazon's ( AMZN ) Wondery said Thursday it has struck an exclusive distribution and ad-sales deal for the popular podcast, Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard.

Under the deal, Wondery and Armchair Expert will co-develop and produce two new podcasts, and one livestream per year, the company said, adding that it will also have a first-look option for any additional new podcasts Shepard creates.

Wondery+ subscribers will be able to listen to the podcast a week early and without ads before Armchair Expert is distributed on other platforms like Apple Podcasts (AAPL) and Spotify ( SPOT ) , according to a release emailed to MT Newswires.

Wondery will also have exclusive rights to develop, manufacture and sell all Armchair Expert merchandise, the company said.

The deal is valued at roughly $80 million, according to media reports.
