08:23 AM EDT, 05/16/2024 (MT Newswires) -- AMC Entertainment Holdings ( AMC ) and GameStop ( GME ) shares dropped in recent Thursday premarket activity.

Shares of AMC were down 3.3% while GameStop ( GME ) fell 7.9%, after declining in Wednesday trading.

Analysts attributed the surge in meme stocks earlier this week to the social media return of Roaring Kitty, the online influencer who contributed to a 2021 meme stock rally by small investors seeking in part to thwart institutional investors shorting the stocks.
