10:29 AM EST, 11/24/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Advanced Micro Devices ( AMD ) said Monday Zyphra has reached a "major" milestone in large-scale AI model training with ZAYA1, the first large-scale Mixture-of-Experts foundation model trained using an AMD GPU and networking platform.

The achievement was published in a Zyphra technical report, the company said.

The model delivered competitive or superior performance to leading open models, showing the scalability and efficiency of AMD Instinct GPUs for production-scale AI workloads, the firm said.

Shares were up over 3% in recent trading.
