Amentum Awarded $490 Million Navy Contract for T-54A Multi-Engine Training System

08:44 AM EDT, 10/28/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Amentum Holdings ( AMTM ) said Monday it was awarded a $490 million contract from the US Navy to provide contractor logistics support for the new T-54A Multi-Engine Training System.

The company said the advanced system will replace the aging T-44C aircraft, adding that it will work with the Navy and Textron, the original equipment manufacturer, to modernize the Navy's training aircraft fleet.

The Multi-Engine Training System program is designed to facilitate the training of future Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and select allied pilots for advanced multi-engine and tilt-rotor aircraft, including the V-22 Osprey, E-2D Hawkeye, C-130 Hercules, and P-8 Poseidon, ensuring operational readiness through 2055.
