06:13 AM EDT, 06/27/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Ameren ( AEE ) said Friday it will build an 800-megawatt simple-cycle natural gas energy center combined with its first large-scale battery storage facility at a single site in Jefferson County, Missouri.
The company's subsidiary, Ameren Missouri, has filed an application with the Missouri Public Service Commission for the plant, the company said.
The plant, to be called The Big Hollow Energy Center, will be ready for generation in 2028, with timely regulatory approvals, the company said.
