09:21 AM EDT, 07/08/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Ameresco ( AMRC ) said Monday it signed a contract with the Snohomish County Public Utility District in Washington to build a 25 MW battery energy storage system.

The project is expected to have a guaranteed capacity of 100 MWh for 20 years, Ameresco ( AMRC ) said.

Under the agreement, Ameresco ( AMRC ) would be the project's asset owner and Snohomish PUD would be the exclusive customer, according to the renewable energy development firm. Financial details were not disclosed.

Construction is expected to begin late this year and would be operational in late 2025, Ameresco ( AMRC ) said.
