Ameresco, US Naval Research Lab Collaborate on $197 Million Energy Modernization Project

04:39 PM EDT, 10/06/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Ameresco ( AMRC ) said late Monday it has partnered with the US Naval Research Laboratory on a $197 million Energy Savings Performance Contract aimed at modernizing infrastructure and improving energy resilience across NRL's Washington, DC, campus and Chesapeake Bay Detachment.

The project will upgrade boilers and chiller plants, install site-wide LED lighting and controls, retrofit plumbing and steam systems, and implement advanced cooling tower optimization, Ameresco ( AMRC ) said.

Once completed, the initiative is expected to save $12.5 million annually, according to a statement.
